Boating
On the Côte-Nord, to navigate really means going out to sea! Explore the many wide and inviting bays and discover islands and natural havens. The region’s recreational harbours are well organized to welcome you aboard your sailboat or your yacht, thus seducing boaters in many ways.

Scuba Diving
The Côte harbours real small aquatic paradises for scuba diving, so do like the whales and take the Whale Route! Search the waters of the magnificent St. Lawrence River where a fauna and a flora that are world renowned for the incomparable richness of their species await you, and follow the dolphins closely. They will lead you towards Les Escoumins, Baie-Comeau, Godbout, and Baie-Trinité, which are sites favoured and particularly valued by divers.

Hiking

If you would rather go hiking in the wilderness, the Manicouagan region has a number of reputed hiking trails that will have you come a-runnin'! Our trails, reserves, parks, ZECs and footpaths stretch over hill and through vale from Sacré-Cœur to Baie-Comeau. As you walk along the shoreline dotted with lighthouses and other typical Quebec maritime attractions, you can see a whale swimming languidly as it feeds, watch the whale-watchers head out for a closer look and take a picture of a playful seal as it frolics in the sea…

Société des amis des Monts Groulx (Friends of the Groulx Mountains)
Founded in 1999, this organization is made up of a group of people who are committed to the sustainable development of this areapeople who are dedicated to the environmentally sound development of this area and to promoting the Groulx Mountains massif. The purpose of this organization is to ensure these mountains remain a wilderness environment that all can enjoy and explore. To this end, a mountain cleanup event is organized every fall on Labour Day weekend (the first weekend in September). This annual gathering of volunteers brings together people who want to maintain and promote these mountains, a communal effort that welcomes your participation. Consider yourself invited!

Given the fragile ecology of these mountains, visitors are invited to practise the principles of the Leave No Trace philosophy. It is hoped that an increase in the numbers of visitors to the mountains will lead to a similar increase in participation in cleanup events! Hikers are the only ones people responsible for preserving this pristine wilderness. Your help is therefore essential.

Enjoy your Leave No Trace hike and welcome to the mountain cleanup event. Visit www.monts-groulx.ca for answers to all your questions.
