Parc Nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes

A favourite destination among hikers, this nature park features a sandy beach, wide flats and kilometres of wooden boardwalks, all of which will introduce you to the plant and animal species of the region. In this natural setting, go on a guided tour and learn about the medicinal properties of local plants, admire thousands of birds (in season) and learn the history of the area from the arrival of the first Aboriginal people to the coming of the first European settlers. Thanks to a natural tidal phenomenon, this park boasts the warmest swimmable waters in Côte-Nord. At rising tide, the sea can reach a water temperature of 26.6°C (80°F). The park is a fragile environment, so dogs and other pets are not allowed.

Schedule: Daily, June 1 to Labour Day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: Adults: $5; students: $4; children: $2.
